DUI Lawyer - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

We Will Stand With You Through Your DUI Charge

If you are facing charges of driving under the influence (DUI), you probably worry about how these charges will affect your future and your family. Whether this is your first offense or a subsequent offense, you need a lawyer who will fiercely defend your legal rights while treating you and your family with compassion and understanding through this difficult situation.

Natalie Snyder Law has extensive experience in criminal defense law, including DUI, and is ready to fight for every client. We will work with you from day one to minimize the consequences of a DUI charge on your life. That may mean negotiating the charges down, but we may try to have the court dismiss the charges or take the case to trial. No matter what course of action we pursue, we will always boldly advocate for your best interest.

What Are The Penalties For A DUI In Pennsylvania?

Pennsylvania law prohibits driving with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .08% or more. Penalties may include:

  • For a first offense: You could face up to six months in jail and extensive fines.

  • For a second offense: Jail time could run from five days to six months with a 12-month license suspension and extensive fines, and you will have to install and maintain an ignition interlock device.

  • For a third offense: You face anywhere from days to months in jail, a license suspension, and extensive fines, as well as an ignition interlock device.

DUIs Are Serious.
Don't Face Them Alone.

Penalties are higher for a BAC of .10% or higher. The first three offenses are all misdemeanors, but a fourth offense rises to a felony charge. In addition, under Pennsylvania’s implied consent law, you may refuse to take the chemical test, but you will automatically lose your license from days to months for a first offense.

In addition to assisting people with various DUI charges, we work with people facing charges of driving on a suspended license due to a DUI. Many people do not realize how serious the penalties can be for driving on a suspended license, which are sometimes as serious as the underlying DUI charge. You will need experienced legal representation in such a case.

Deciding If Sentencing Alternatives Could Work For You

Natalie Snyder Law can also help you decide if a diversionary program may be right for you. Diversionary programs are designed to help people with addiction issues find the medical help and treatment they need rather than funneling them through the criminal system, but not everyone can qualify for these programs. We can guide you through the requirements to determine whether this option would be in your best interests.
